Step 1: Copy this text to your clipboard.

Unknown to most, mulled wine was actually created by the Romans who drank hot wine as a defense technique to warm their bodies during harsh winters. But, as the Romans conquered most of Europe, the beverage became popular all throughout their empire and the regions they traded with. Each region had its own name for the beverage – glögg in Sweden, glühwein in Germany, grzaniec galicyjski in Poland, vin brûlé in Italy, and vin chaud in France. However, the turning point for mulled wine came in the 1890s when glögg (Swedish mulled wine) became associated with Christmas. From then on, mulled wine became a global phenomenon.

Prepare this classic winter cocktail, take a sip and imagine yourself strolling cobblestone streets in Europe while meandering through a Christmas market. The sound of carolers is in the air, the smells of cinnamon, nutmeg and chestnuts tickle your nose, and glistening lights glow amidst the light snowfall. Sound like a dream? When the time is right, we’re here to help you experience it all in person!
